Hello from the hammock complex, thought I'd post an update.
Downloader 1.2 has been getting good reviews in the app store and there are more and more users everyday. I want to continue to improve it for all of you, and continue to make it the best file download app on the App Store. Today I need suggestions on what features you want next.
There are a lot of different directions it could go, and I've had some interesting suggestions from users (Bookmarks, Google Docs integration, support for password-protected RAR/ZIP files, improved PDF handling/navigation,...) If you have a suggestion for an improvement or just want to vote up one of those, please send an email or a tweet.
In the meantime I'll be posting more info to the FAQs for common issues or workflow help for downloading from common sites. I created Downloader for an audience of one, but with thousands of users around the world, I want to make sure it continues to work for all of you.
After a lengthy review process, Downloader 1.1 has been approved for sale in the App Store. This version features bug fixes and auto-paste, and requires iPhone OS 3.0. Read more about it on the product page or in the App Store
Apple has decided that applications that allow unrestricted access to the internet must adopt a 17+ rating. Since one of the key features of Downloader is a web browser for easier downloads, Downloader is now rated 17+.
Downloader 1.2 is in development with Landscape Mode, support for emailing downloaded files, and more!
We're pleased to report that Downloader has been reviewed by AppReview, and earned their Better rating. AppReview looks at each application's individual features and benefits and ranks them against similar applications. Better and Best ratings are given to a small percentage of applications so we're very happy to receive this rating.
